Show Photo's

This now too rarely performed show contains some fabulous Irving Berlin melodies. For this production, the society chose Frederick's of Weston-Super Mare for its scenery, which, in my opinion, was in poor condition and in desperate need of repainting.

I do not know if all the costumes came from the same source but the male chorus costumes were extremely poor. E.g., no gloves with the evening dress, waistcoats finishing before the waistbands of trousers, etc. By comparison, Colin Griffiths (Cosmo) was the height of elegance in his presentation. I last saw Colin in this rôle many years ago. He is singing as well as ever.

Nikki Harrison is proving to be a choreographer of note. Matthew Darsley (Kenneth Gibson) and Sally Wild (Maria) teamed up well together. Sally, unfortunately, had her sound pack strapped to her front and which showed through her costume. It was a pity the sound technician didn't notice as many of the audience did!

Margaret Johnson in probably her biggest rôle worked extremely hard. Thanks must go to Phil and Mel Gibson for their hospitality.
